Artist & Industry Leader

An elderly woman with short gray hair, glasses, and earrings is painting watercolor landscapes in an art studio. She is leaning over a table with various art supplies, including watercolors, brushes, and paper, with paintings of trees and nature scenes around her.

From an early age, Beverly Miller found joy and purpose in painting—a passion that would shape her life and career. She began her formal art education at the Brooklyn Museum Art School and continued her studies at the renowned Pratt Institute. After graduating, she brought her artistic talents to Cartier, where she designed jewelry that combined elegance with creative vision.

In 1974, Beverly joined United Scenic Artists, launching a dynamic and influential career in film, television, theater, and opera. Her work contributed to major productions such as The Wiz, All That Jazz, and Hair, and she went on to lead design efforts for projects including The Hunger, Tattingers, Broadway shows, and numerous national commercials.

Her dedication to the industry extended beyond the creative sphere. Elected President of United Scenic Artists in 1996, Beverly officially stepped into union leadership in 1999, where she played a pivotal role in shaping policies for television and film contracts, ensuring safety standards, and overseeing the Apprenticeship Training Trust. Her leadership helped safeguard the rights and future of generations of artists.

After retiring in 2021, Beverly returned to her roots—immersing herself once again in painting. Today, she enjoys a fulfilling life centered around her art, yoga practice, her beloved dogs, and tending to her garden.
